Welcome to the Eric Mataxas Show. Please keep your arms and legs inside the car at all times.

This is your final warning. Now here's your host, Mr. Thrill Ride himself. Eric Mataxas.

Hey, hey, hey. Folks, we often talk about very important things on this show. And one of them

0:28.3

is the future of work in an age of smart machines. That is the subtitle of a book by my friend,

0:36.0

Jay Richards of the Discovery Institute. The book is called The Human Advantage, the human

0:41.3

advantage, the future of American work in an age of smart machines. Jay Richards, welcome to the

0:46.4

program. Great to meet you, right? I have to say this is good news in this book. I don't want to

0:54.3

steal your thunder. So you've written many, many books. You're definitely somebody that I think

1:03.1

1:40.5

last two or three years, making more or less that argument. My argument is that yes, there's major

1:45.6

disruption happening. A lot of the types of work we're doing right now will be replaced or

1:50.7

transformed. But that doesn't mean we're going to be replaced. It means that we are just simply

1:55.0

need to prepare into adapt to information economy in which we're doing things in a different way.

2:00.8

And because the fact that human beings are persons made in the image of God and machines are not,

2:06.5

there is absolutely no reason to think that machines are ever literally going to replace us.

2:10.4

Well, I have to say I've been saying this. I've not written about it, but I've been saying this

2:14.4

for years. The idea that artificial intelligence is some kind of threat. Well, I think the problem
