Wall Street started a Federal Reserve focused week with an up draft on Monday, pushing higher following the weakness seen last week.

The NASDAQ ended up 1.3%. The SMP 500 closed up 1.4% and the Dow finished up 1.6%.

All 11 S&P sectors finished higher, led by energy,

Infotech, and utilities.

Industrials, health care, financials, and consumer staples all

posted gains of more than 1% as well. In the fixed income market rates moved higher.

The 10-year Treasury yield advanced five basis points at 3.62 percent,

while the two-year yield climbed six basis points to 4.39 percent.

And of course happening today the government will release November data for the

consumer price index with economists looking for signs that the pace of

inflation has begun to drop economists expect the consumer Price Index to show a 7.3% increase compared to last year.

This would mark a moderation compared to October's 7.7% year-over-year increase.
