If you brought a Bible with you today, please turn to James the first chapter.

If you didn't bring a Bible, the ushers are there in the aisle.

Hold up your hand.

They'd be glad to let you use one of ours.

And turn to James, chapter one, James chapter one, and the 22nd verse.

James 122 says,

but be ye doers of the word

and not hearers only deceiving your own selves.

Read that out loud with me.

Why would the Lord tell us about this?

Unless it's an issue that a lot of people are hearing and not doing.

You can hear and hear and hear and hear and hear and hear.

That doesn't mean you've done anything.

I know years ago, this must have been 10, 15 years ago, but 15 years ago or so. I was in a conference.

Not the speaker that night, but just attending. And I looked out and it was a great crowd of people.

I saw some minister friends and people that I knew and I was just looking around, being happy.

And the Lord spoke to my heart

I don't mean to hurt an audible voice but inside me the way he'll speak to every Christian if you'll

listen he said to me he said there's a misconception in your circles I knew he's talking about

those of us that call herself faith people, the word people.

I thought, a misconception, what is it, Lord?
