What's up, everyone. Welcome to this episode at the Colin and Samir show. On today's episode,

0:03.5

we're talking about YouTubers Outdoor Boys who walked away from their channel with 15 million

0:08.4

subscribers. We're also going to tell you everything you need to know about YouTube's

0:11.7

brandcast event, which took place last week in New York. And right at the end of the episode,

0:17.5

Samir and I are going to compare how many texts we got during the duration of recording

0:22.7

this episode. All right, if we make it to the deep end, let us know.

So on Saturday, one of my favorite YouTube channels, Outdoor Boys, uploads a video titled Goodbye. I got to be honest,

0:40.2

I saw it. I thought it was probably a bait and switch. It generally is. It generally is a bait and switch.

0:44.3

It's generally like a goodbye from this format because I'm about to shift a little bit. Or like I'm

1:08.9

1:21.4

it's been seen over four billion times. And he talks about how he can't really even go out

1:27.4

in the world anymore

1:28.2

without him and his family being stopped. So that essentially it's gone too far. Like his success

1:35.8

is at odds with how he actually wants to live his life. Right. Now, to take a step back,

1:41.7

if you don't know Outdoor Boys, it's an outdoor survival and adventure channel.

1:47.2

It's kind of like Bear Grills, like Manverse Wild, but it's pretty low-fi. It's generally just him solo with a GoPro, going on a crazy multi-day adventure, either, you know, into the Alaskan wilderness or, you know,

2:05.6

in Australia or anywhere around the world. And he grew up in Alaska. So he's incredibly well

2:11.3

equipped to survive. But interesting to see that at his peak, he's walking away because he's gotten too famous.
