Today's film is absolutely crazy in absolutely all the right ways. Howdy, I'm Jeff Goldsmith,

0:06.6

and this is the Q&A. My agenda is simple. Each week I plan to bring you in-depth insight into the

0:12.2

creative process of storytelling. Folks, it's my absolute honor to have with us today, director

0:17.8

Alex Cox, to discuss his 1987 film, Walker. The good news is today's episode

0:23.8

was made possible by the fine folks at the Criterion Collection who just released a beautiful

0:29.6

brand new Blu-ray of Walker. It's perfecto. It has awesome special features. The film

0:36.4

looks and sounds absolutely incredible. So we got really

0:40.2

lucky that the Criterion Collection was releasing this beautiful remaster of Walker and Alex Cox was in

1:15.7

I'm a longtime fan of Alex Cox's, so it was a blast to interview him,

and he was very forthcoming about his creative process, so I know you'll dig this episode.

1:26.6

And speaking of things to dig, I hope you also

1:28.8

check out Backstory Magazine. Folks, we are 10 years old this June and we are preparing as

1:34.7

cool of an issue as we can. And there's a lot of good stuff now in our Oscar issue. And we've

1:39.9

even continued adding stories to it after we published that are not Oscar stories because we

1:45.4

could do that. We're a digital magazine. So if you've never read us before, I hope you'll check

1:49.9

out the iPad app Backstory or just read us on a desktop or laptop at Backstory.net. And you could

1:56.6

test drive us by reading our free issue, which shows you what we're all about. And if you want to
