This podcast is called Power Corrupts, named after the famous quote from Lord Acton.

But is that claim actually true? Does power actually corrupt people?

Or is it just that corruptible people are drawn to power?

Do genes have anything to do with who develops a thirst for power?

Why do human societies have such steep hierarchies in the first place?

Why do height and facial appearance have so much to do with who we select to be our leaders?

How does power change your brain chemistry?

Why do so many people in positions of authority seem to be psychopaths

from politicians to the tyrants who rule homeowners associations?

And are drivers of eco-friendly preesses actually less likely to be corruptible jerks

than drivers of BMWs?
