There's a traffic jam in our courts in Washington State. Victims and people accused of crimes are

waiting and waiting because in many cases, one person needs a public defender and those are

getting harder to come by. Investigative reporter Aspen Ford joins us to talk about why,

and it's not just because attorneys are burnt out. But first, let's get you caught up.

Watch your speed in school zones. The number of speed cameras could soon double in Seattle.

The city council's advancing a bill to install 37 cameras outside of schools that don't have them now.

They plan to vote next month, and cameras could be up by the end of this year.

Transportation officials say speeding violations have dropped by 64% near schools that already have the cameras.

A GOP lawmaker in Washington wants to bring Doge from

D.C. to Washington State. State Representative Jim Walsh is proposing a new state entity, the Washington

Department of Government Efficiency, with the intent to cut government spending. Walsh, who also

heads the state's Republican Party, says he doesn't expect Democrats to

support him. His plans modeled on Doge, the effort led by Elon Musk to slash the federal government.
