insights or updates. Today's episode is number eight, the Levina Johnson story.

Megan, as you know, this was and continues to be one of the cases that haunts me the most.

Yes. In fact, we get asked that question a lot by our supporters or just by people who write in

if you could solve any case or which case sticks with you. And this is in my

top three for sure. And I speak about it whenever given the opportunity. In fact, we also re-aired

this episode in July of 2023 during our week off in the summer. And I was surprised because as well

as I know this story, listening to it again was as shocking as the first time I

learned about it. I know. Stay tuned after today's episode to hear where things are almost 20 years later.

But before we get to that, let's go ahead and hear our original coverage of the Levina Johnson story.

Levena Johnson was just a few days shy of her 20th birthday when her body was found lifeless in a tent on a U.S. military base in Iraq.

Her death was quickly ruled a suicide by Army investigators.

However, it didn't take long for questions to arise.

Was this in fact a suicide, as the Army quickly claimed?

Or was this a murder with a systematic cover-up by the U.S. military?

More than a decade later, questions still linger.
