Welcome back to the Lantern Rouge cycling podcast for the recap of stage four, the

0:03.7

Vuelta Espanya 2021 here with Benji as always supported by our show partner LeCole who produced

0:11.5

performance cycling apparel. Again, a stage with no categorized climbs, but it's a sprint stage,

0:18.1

but a little bit rolly as well, but yeah, it didn't really matter. There was also, it will

0:22.8

be crosswinds, it didn't matter either. It's a pretty straightforward sprint stage and,

0:30.0

yeah, there's the uphill finish, there was a little bit of consternation yesterday,

0:33.5

where Benji and I were looking at the official roadbook and I was like, is this for Magnus Court

0:39.0

and Ruglich, not Jakobsson and Philipsson, it's the same one case, 6%, and it was not that for

0:45.9

sure, it was a little rise at the end, but it was like a 65K now I run in and then the hit this

0:51.2

last 500 meters, they gone so fast, it's a pure sprint stage in my view, at least, but yeah,

0:57.6

Benji classic Vuelta break away once again. Yeah, two riders from Burgos BH, actually,

1:03.7

Madraso and Canal, Madraso is the guy that won that stage a few years ago ahead of us teammate,

1:09.0

yet so bull, we also had a boo or bow or whatever you pronounce it like from Oiskeltel,

1:14.4

also in the Brankway, cap opened up to like four minutes 30, but you know that the sprinting

1:19.2

teams are controlling this, so an Alpasin recurring and then at the J, all have their riders set

1:24.6

up at the front, working together to try and close this gap down and that's basically it for that,

1:29.5

those guys took points, obviously, at the intermediate sprint, but there was also people taking

1:35.5

points in the Peloton, Sino-Shaltock points and Philipsson, so seems like Jakobsson decided not

1:41.3

to sprint and is intermediate sprint, or yeah, it was Philipsson taking points on Jakobsson,

1:46.8

then extra points and he had a lead of 10 points by 10, and you know what I think happened?

1:52.6

What happened? Tell me. I reckon Jakobsson decided he lost the other stage because he went

1:59.0

to the intermediate sprint ahead of Aaron Baruch, and it took a little bit out of his legs,
