Welcome back to the Lantern Rouge Cycling Podcast with Benji Nice and for the last grand tour stage of the year, I'm pretty buckled and tired, but I'm actually sad that the last grand tour is already finished and I'm already looking forward to the next year.

0:13.0

We've got lots of racing coming up, we've got the Ben looks tour and serenity's it love well to challenge full recap tomorrow as well as the Vuelta full recap on Tuesday record then this is just a stage 21 of the Vuelta España recap.

0:27.8

We're going to cut across the full race recap too much. A 34 kilometer time trial from Patron to Santiago to Compostela, this where the famous Camino to Compost, Camino to Santiago Camino, the pilgrimage to Santiago to Compostela for Christians finishes here and this is where the Vuelta finishes outside the cathedral.

0:46.2

It's a very hilly course up and down pretty much the entire time with even a two K seven and a half percent climb up to the first intermediate time check to the second intermediate time check at the end of a one K six percent climb, Rob, which was the heavy, heavy favorite before we get actually after but we don't have a breakway, Benji, before I read out the results.

1:07.2

I want to mention our show partner, look cold, they produce performance cycling apparel. If you haven't yet, there's the LL of Vuelta two zero specifically for the Vuelta LL of Vuelta two zero all caps discount code for 20% off all the columns during the Vuelta España and you can pick yourself up either the summer gift the end of summer all going into autumn and winter as well as a sale on the moment and the code applies in addition to those.

1:36.2

Into already discounted items, but the results, Benji, Primal's road was finishing in first house across that you out of 10 zero.

1:45.2

Yeah, he was the he was the heavy favorite, but the question was was he going to take a lot of risks or not and you expected him not to take all the risks in the world, but he also would try for the stage and I think that's exactly what happened here because the gap to the second person on the stage Magnus scored Nilsen is 14 seconds, but that's all.

2:05.2

So because Magnus scored did a great time trial today.

2:08.2

Magnus calls outstanding. Yeah, I mean, I couldn't believe it. He didn't have a follow car. It's EFTT riders, Benji, the disrespect. I didn't this ago, if I come second in a TT this year or win a TT and didn't have a follow car either.

2:20.2

And now people know he's good. But yeah, people is an outstanding TT from him. But yeah, he's the full top 10, Rob, which first caught second aronsman on 52 seconds.

2:30.2

It was on 14 seconds, Choney. They're predictable guys. Choney on 116, Hager on 143. The next GC guy.

2:39.2

And now on 149 in 6th, three seconds had a growth shot and a growth spike. Mars on 204 is a gear on 206.

2:48.2

De La Cruz on 2, 2, 14. So Mars obviously set in second. That's fine. No.

2:55.2

The big drama was Hague vs Adam Yates. Hague comes in at 252 beats Adam Yates by about 20 seconds plus maybe more 2026 seconds. But that wasn't the story of this TT between Hague and Yates.

3:11.2

Yates ended to gain a minute on MMGC to take the podium spot of 3rd. He'd not, and you know, quite critical of the yesterday, which I stand behind how he rode the final stage.

3:20.2

He was 9th at the first intermediate, 22 or maybe even 26 seconds ahead of Hague.

3:26.2

Yeah, on the part of the stadium, 27.

3:29.2

I was concerned, Benji, as a Hague fan, I was, my foot tick was, I couldn't even watch.

3:37.2

But you, I think we're like, I think Yates is really risking it here and putting it all out on the line, could fade.

3:43.2

I think we either had one of the two. We either had a positive split by Yates where he tried very hard at the start to make Hague panic.

3:51.2

So a positive split by Yates at the start making it very hard for Hague mentally by having those gaps on Hague at the initial part.

4:00.2

So going a bit harder at the start, perhaps losing that energy for the latter part of the race, but with the potential ability of making Hague a bit more panicky.
