When we talk about Greece, our mind either rushes to the modern country of Greece, with all of its

fantastic tourist destinations, or we think of ancient Greece and all of the advanced politics and

mythology that brought about the rivalries between Athens and Sparta and all of its historical sites which link closely to the

pantheon of Greek gods which stirs our imagination and interest.

After the fall from power of the mighty ancient Greek city-states, the culture of Greece endured,

such was its monumental influence.

The language and the alphabet were convenient and inspirational for other societies who obtained so much information with so much ease because of it.

So that when the city states themselves became politically weak,

the Hellenistic culture endured and inspired. The entire Greek-speaking world was overshadowed and engulfed by the Romans.

But the Romans protected Greek values and heritage
