Get comfy where you are.

Feel rooted and safe.

Close your eyes and take a deep breath.

In through your nose for one,

two. nose for one, two, three, four, and out through your mouth for two, three, four.

Continue breathing this slow, even pace.

And as you inhale,

imagine that you are breathing in calmness and strength.

As you exhale, imagine you are breathing out, stress, and worry.

Feel your anxiety slip away with each breath.

And if your mind drifts, acknowledge the thoughts, then bring your attention back to your breathing.

Notice how calm you feel as I recap our last episode. Spring arrived and a warm Sunday was ending after Lucy had walked

to and from the nearest Protestant church.

As she watched Madame Beck and her party out the window, she mused about the young girl accompanying them. She vaguely

knew her as Monsieur Paul's goddaughter, and she thought about how genial their relationship seemed,
