I'm Rob Cox, the editor of Breaking Views, coming new for my home in sunny Zurich, Switzerland.

This week I thought we'd travel around the world, figuratively of course, since like you, all of the breaking views team are confined

to their homes, doing their best to help flatten the curve on the spread of the coronavirus.

That means we had something like three dozen bureaus around the world to choose from.

But I thought given the extraordinary decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to lock down India's 1.3 billion people, we'd be better off starting with Yuna Galani

in Mumbai. After that, we will travel to our Lower East Side of Manhattan Bureau

to check in with our US editor, John Foley,

to hear how things are playing out

in the center of the outbreak in the United States,

which is a little bit behind where we are here in Europe.

Finally, we'll head to Milan to speak with Lisa Yucca

to hear how Italy is coping with the social shutdown,

as well as the economic fallout.

Remember, Italy is a few weeks ahead of much of Western Europe and certainly in the

United States in dealing with this horrific tragedy.
