Like all of you, Breaking View's columnists are confined to their homes

all around the world. But this week's podcast, like we did last week, I thought it would be

worth visiting with a few of them. So we'll check in first with Gina Chan in Palo Alto, California,

to discuss the Golden States fight to flatten the curve of the coronavirus, as well as some of the

efforts undertaken by the Federal Reserve and

the U.S. government. I was particularly interested in getting Gina's take on Fed boss,

Jay Powell's decision to pop onto the popular Today show on NBC last week. First time a Fed

governor done that in generation. From California, we'll head to the UK, where our European editor, Peter Thal

Larson, will fill us in on London under lockdown. We'll also discuss the ongoing debate

in Europe, in particular, whether banks and large financial companies, insurers and the like,

should be paying dividends or not. Regulators have mostly made the decision for them,

but it is a fraught one. Then I will hand things over to Asia where Pete Sweeney,

Alec McFarlane, and Unigalani will discuss one of the biggest rescues yet of the coronavirus era,

that of Singapore Airlines. So let's get going.
