Today, it's part two of my conversation with photographer and cinematographer Douglas Bolton.

Doug, you've got a shiny new smartphone.

Do you go right ahead and start shooting video using the factory settings?

So as standard, usually the iPhone comes set to HD recording.

So 1920 by 1080 is the dimensions of HD video.

But you can go right up to now to 4K on these phones.

And they're not set to that.

So you have to just go into your settings under general and then under video.

And you want to make sure it's recording 4K video, say 25 frames a second or 24 frames a second.

I look back and I compare it to the large broadcast cameras that we use when we're filming with you.

And sometimes on a nice sunny day, it's very difficult to notice the difference

on these and this is sunny that fits in your pocket HD stands for high definition so how could

things possibly get better HD a member in the day when HG was launched we were all like wow they know

this is this quality how can it possibly get any better than this

and then you get into 4k which is four times the quality of HD compare stuff that is filmed on a on the big

broadcast camera and when you're recording in 4k that's where it really does notice the difference and

there is a variable you know a real notable difference between

HD and 4k now but I think we're at that point now where literally you can think how can this

possibly get any better than 4k of course phones can also do slow motion are you a fan of that
