Summary
Today I'm reporting from on board an express train on the Indonesian island of Java. It's a relaxing and fun way to get around this fascinating nation, as well as being very good value. Buying tickets online is also reasonably straightforward and in my experience the trains are ultra reliable.

| 1:32.8 | This trip has cost roughly £25 and that's for a six or seven hour journey. In my case, |
| 1:41.5 | I actually broke the trip. Otherwise it would have felt like spending, well, the whole day, on board a train. |

| 1:56.0 | And that meant I could go and enjoy some noodles and tea at a very good restaurant just opposite the station and that cost |
| 2:04.6 | slightly less than one pound buying the tickets is surprisingly easy you can go along and talk to somebody |
| 2:14.7 | but generally intercity trains are only on sale from the ticket |
| 2:20.5 | office with about three hours to go so yes you can walk up you can have to give them your |
| 2:25.2 | passport because you need to enter your passport details for them to print you out a ticket |
| 2:31.0 | but there's many different ways of buying tickets online. I happen to go through the |
| 2:37.6 | Man in Seat 61's website because they have a link to a very straightforward place to buy your tickets. |
| 2:47.9 | And I thought, oh my goodness, am I going to be able to get some space but in fact |
| 2:54.0 | this train like the others I've taken is somewhere between one third and one half |
