Veterans Day. It is our tradition here to always celebrate by bringing in some of the many clients

of the fund, which is the merger of the Semper Phi Fund and America's Fund. Now, I don't know how many years they've been going. I think it's 23, and I think I've been doing this for 22 years. I begin the show with a couple of their wonderful staff. Beth Birchfield and Christy Stover. Beth is the case management director on the East Coast. Christy Stover is a senior director of case management on the West Coast. Getting them together at the same time is wonderful. Ladies, welcome back. Good Veterans Day to you. Beth, let's start with the basics. I get new affiliates every year. First time some people have ever heard about the fund.org. I'll give out all the giving information. The best way to do help the fund is to go to the fund.org.

But give us a little background on the fund and how it got started and what it does.

Well, we were started from our CEO and founder, Karen Gunther, who was a nurse in California

at Balboa, and she was watching our service members come from the

battlefield, and sometimes they were recovering alone because their families just couldn't afford to be

bedside. So she saw the gap and the need, and she, her and five other Marine Corps spouses put

$100 on the table, and today we are the Simpifying America's Fund.

And it's a very big fund.

Christy, I don't have the numbers in front of me.

How many service members have you helped and how much money have you raised?

Because it's a staggering amount for what began as five ladies around a kitchen table.
