So you're back co-hosting this podcast with me.

Clearly I am very comfortable and find it very enjoyable to do things with you like

write books or co-host podcasts. It's a we got a good thing going here so I thought

I would expand it to the podcast. You were like hey come on for like host one

podcast with me and then all of a sudden it was hey a host one podcast with me and then all the sudden it was hey I host another

podcast episode with me and I don't know where this is headed mica.

This is a little gateway drug got you hooked. So for this episode we interviewed Nakeel Seval, who is a recently successful Democratic

Socialist of America-backed candidate for the state Senate in Pennsylvania and he won just a few

weeks ago and you know that's great news on multiple fronts I mean for one thing it's just been such an

insane six months in this country and in the world. I mean we went from the

Bernie Sanders campaign really being in full swing some of us even

allowed ourselves to believe that we actually could have a Democratic socialist in the

White House and we threw our all into that

campaign as you and I have talked about on this podcast and elsewhere before and

then we have this world historic pandemic that really dashes all of our dreams and kills over 100,000 people in this country and what will end up being millions around the world and, you know,

we were brought pretty high and then we were brought pretty low and then, you know, a million other things happen.

I mean, we see these horrific video of

George Floyd being murdered by the police which is just such a devastating thing to

watch and but then you see these really inspiring protests in the streets, and so, you know, you were being just jerked one way than the other over and over again over the last six months, but Nakeel's victory along with some other
