Summary

VANISHED....(Part 1) covers a number of strange disappearances taking place in our National Parks, and considers paranormal explanations for these and other time slip occurrences which remain unexplained. (Note: The North Carolina boy announced lost in this episode has been found dead. Authorities are working as hard as humanly possible to find out what happened). Author and ex- San Jose California policeman David Pauilides is given credit here for a large amount of interest in the stories of missing persons in North American parks with his books and movie Missing 411.. It is our hope that if this episode accomplishes one thing it will be to emphasize the reality that parents cannot take their eyes off their children, especially young children, for even a second. 0:58.6	I immediately started noticing more news I had done an episode on the missing men of Boston about a year ago. It seems Boston has an
1:16.2	abnormally high ratio of young college men who end up getting fished out of the Charles
1:20.7	River Basin. Their lives having been lost due to a frozen
1:24.3	slip into the icy waters sometimes while relieving themselves outside of the
1:28.9	local riverfront bars. Or as in the case of one event taped by security cameras committing suicide by jumping in and never calling for rescue.
1:38.0	I ended the show by sharing suicide hotline numbers and letting people know that teen suicide is a
1:43.8	rising problem and sometimes the only life preserver is a friend who isn't afraid
1:48.6	to ask questions and seek help. Regarding missing people I've shelved the story a few times over the past month because it
1:56.4	involves so much pain and loss for so many.
2:00.0	Popular threads exist out there in places like Reddit where people post stories,
2:04.2	often scary ones for the public to consume, which they do in big numbers.
2:09.1	Those stories are popular.
2:10.7	Some of the stories will peak the public interest only to be announced as fake by the person who submitted them
