Yeah, so it came into our newsroom as just a silver alert.

You know, we got the email with the information from police that a woman in New Canaan had gone missing.

On May 24th, 2019, an alert came into the Fox 61 newsroom in Hartford, Connecticut.

At first glance, it wasn't anything all that unusual in the daily news cycle.

Ben Goldman, an evening anchor at Fox 61, says the alert, like a lot of news in that corner

of the state, didn't jump into the nightly news rundown at first glance.

So New Canaan's about an hour, hour and 15 minutes southwest from where Hartford is.

New Canaan's part of Fearfield County and in the state of

Connecticut it's a little bizarre. Fairfield County is almost a part of

New York. They receive New York City local news.

They don't even get our local news down in Fairfield County.

And it's kind of its own little subsection

an extension of the greater New York City area.

But then they started hearing about the search for Jennifer Doolos.

It was no longer just in the New Canaan area.

The search for this woman, Jennifer Doolos was not just isolated to New Canaan in Fairfield County.

It spread up to where our stations are in Hartford and in one of the suburbs here Farmington which is just about 10-15
