Hi, you may have already heard that we lost a friend a few days ago when Sandra Pankhurst, who was immortalized in Sarah Krasnosteen's brilliant book, The Trauma Cleaner, passed away.

Sandra was such a warm loving person. Once she decided you were friends, she worked

very hard at staying in touch, sending funny, thoughtful messages and beautiful gifts that nobody but Sandra would think of.

We were incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to get to know Sandra Pankhurst and

I personally learned lessons from her about empathy and trauma that changed my life.

So this week we reissue our Sandra Pankhurst episode of Australian True Crime in her honor. I know Sandra would want us to

celebrate her life for the next hour or so and then get on with our own. It was

certainly not her style to sit around wallowing in the past. The producers of this podcast recognize the traditional owners of the land on which it's recorded.

They pay respect to the Aboriginal elders past, present and those emerging.
