I want to talk a little bit today about covenant renewal. Covenant renewal. In the CREC, the practice of covenant renewal worship is very widespread.

I think it is a potent form of worship.

It's like cutting up the meat with the right side of the,

with the right sharp edge of the knife instead of the blunt side of the knife.

It makes all the difference in the world.

The saints of God should not gather in a

Unitarian lecture hall, sing a hymn, say a prayer, hear a lecture, and then sing a hymn and then go out.

I want to argue that worship is the most important thing we do in our lives. Most important thing I do in any given week

is appearing before the Lord together with my people and worshiping him. And we want, as good

Protestants, we want our worship to be according to scripture. We want to have our worship be potent. Now, here in Moscow,

our worship service, the worship service was an hour and a half long, and we reduced it to an

hour and 15 minutes by making a few adjustments. And we did that because we had to go to three

services. So we have three services on Sunday morning. And we did that because we had to go to three services. So we have three

services on Sunday morning, and each one is an hour and 15 minutes with a 15 minute break in

between each service. That's where we are now. The structure of this worship service is this.

The services bookended by the call to worship,

on the one hand, that inaugurates the worship service, and the commissioning at the tail end
