Derek Van Riper, Trevor May here with you.

0:17.1

It's Thursday, July 10th on this episode.

0:19.5

We got a little baseball news you should know.

0:21.3

The return of Tyler Glassnow. That went pretty well on Wednesday afternoon in Milwaukee.

0:26.1

We've got the debut of Cam Schlittler for the Yankees. A prospect that Yankees fans started clamoring for a bit in recent weeks to help out in that rotation.

0:34.7

Got some big picture stuff we're going to look at, including how pitchers can use the swing data we get from Savant now to kind of work against hitters. And it ties into some stuff that Jed and I talked about on the Wednesday episode as well. We're also going to search for a few future closers. Trade deadline coming up in a few weeks. So it's an opportunity to get some saves on your fantasy rosters. if you can maybe get ahead of the curve a little bit. We'll see if Trevor buys into my picks

0:58.6

for actual save opportunities down the road and time permitting. We will look at some overperforming

1:03.8

pitchers and try to figure out just how harsh the regression monster is going to be inspired by

1:09.0

Chris Flexen, who came up in passing a little bit earlier in the week in one of our conversations. We have no idea how Chris Flexen has an ERA below one, but it's not going to last. At least we're pretty sure it's not going to last, right? Probably not past a year, but hey, if he pulls us off for a whole year, I would be color me, surprised.

1:32.5

But yeah, yeah, it's not looking like it's going to be something that just sticks around just by its nature.

1:37.6

It's going to be an all-time surprising season, if that holds through the rest of the year.

1:39.1

But let's start with Tyler Glassnow.

1:42.1

The velocity looked better across the board yesterday.

1:46.4

I think he touched 99 at the peak, which is great to see from Glassnell.

1:54.5

The stuff numbers were better than they've been for most of this season, but still not in that pre-2020 level.

2:02.6

So maybe some concerns there at 100 stuff plus, a 92 location plus, which is still a little low for Tyler Glassnell as well.

2:07.2

But it was five innings, no earned runs, five K's, three walks, two hits.

2:13.1

I think if you're a Dodgers fan, you're ecstatic that Glassnow pitched five innings in a big league game,

2:18.7

given how long the layoff has been. And things at least appear to be trending back in the right direction for him. Yeah, I think that one thing that gets lost a little bit maybe in the sauce

2:23.5

and talking about pitching is how long it takes to get into a little bit of a rhythm, just for your

2:29.3

body to naturally do the things you needed to do, especially when there's injuries and not only
