Hello, I'm Dr. Stephen Hassan, and I'm absolutely delighted to have Matthew Winkler on with me as a guest.

Matthew is a catalyst for positive transformation. He's taught writing and literature in secondary

schools and colleges in China, Japan, and the

United States.

His viral TED-Ed video, What Makes a Hero, with 8 million views, and his nonfiction

book Mentoring Teenage Heroes, highlight the connections between storytelling and personal

growth.

Alongside his work as an educator, Matt has served in management roles in various industries.

He is currently the chief operating officer at Woodhall Press,

publishing award-winning authors while discovering talented new writers.

He also manages the heroic imagination project,

a global nonprofit dedicated to training ordinary people to aim heroically.

He holds a master's degree in creative writing and Japanese,

I'm a big fan of Dr. Zimbardo, who is a mentor of mine since the 70s when I reached out to him trying to figure out influence and the Mooney's and everything else.

And he's been very much encouraging my career ever since. And when I said, Dr. Z, I want to promote

the Heroic Imagination Project, I think it should be in the curriculum of every school in the world as a preventive education slash

inoculation program to teach young people, but everybody about social psychology. He said,
