Hi, it's Leslie Allen, editor of Shipped magazine. And it's Alexis St. John, covering

tech and suppliers. Joining us on the podcast today,

we're pleased to have Casser Eunice and Peter Ludwig,

the CEO and CTO respectively of applied intuition.

But first, as usual, Alexa and Leslie, never a dull moment this week.

Leslie, I know one of the main stories we covered at Automotive News was the registration data from electric vehicles.

What can you tell us about that?

Oh yes, this is something that's pretty exciting for us.

We're getting finally a breakdown of which vehicles that are registered in the US

are full electric vehicles. And we got that data from Experian. And it probably is no surprise to anyone that Tesla

dominates the electric vehicle field by far of all of the vehicles registered in 2020, some 80% were Tesla vehicles.

And what's really interesting with Tesla is the rise of the model why. I mean the model three is still

their best-selling vehicle but the model why is just taking off like crazy.

It was on the market for less than a year in 2020 and loved something like 71,000 registrations.

The only vehicle that was not a Tesla in the top five was the Chevy Boat, Boat with a B.

And it's kind of interesting that the top vehicles, EV at least, that are selling in the US are from companies that no longer

qualify for that $7,500 federal tax credit for electric vehicles that a lot of people see as a way of giving the market a boost.
