What's going on my fishy friends and I say that because today we're talking about

using seaweed fertilizer or kelp fertilizer in the garden so there's a lot of talk about this.

There's a lot of benefits to using seaweed, soil amendments.

You know, I don't really know what the story is behind who was the first person to use seaweed

I would guess it would be an ancient people because, you know, an ancient tribe or an ancient culture that lived near the ocean, right?

And so they somehow discovered that using kelp and perhaps burying kelp near their crops improved the crop production and that sort of was passed down. I would guess I really don't know. But whatever the case may be, seaweed fertilizer is amazing and kelp would be the number one ingredient in most liquid seaweed fertilizer because it is easy to harvest it grows extremely fast and you know different

formulas of liquid kelp fertilizer contain different oceanic plants.

What's amazing about kelp is it can grow up to two to three feet in a single day and it can grow over 160 feet long.

So we're not really going to run out of it anytime soon, especially me. I live in San Diego. I can actually just go to the beach and grab some and make my own kelp fertilizer if I so desire.

Now, fertilizing with seaweed, it provides plants with all sorts of good micronutrients, things like

zinc, iron, and magnesium. Obviously it's got a little bit of nitrogen, a little potassium

as well, trace amounts of the macro nutrients, but larger amounts or at least

present amounts of the micro nutrients.

So what a lot of people will do with

seaweed fertilizer is they will either fully are feed it,
