Summary

I recently saw a lot of negativity online directed towards gardeners that grow with seed starts instead of starting their own seeds. I decided to call out this nonsense once and for all on the podcast. Keep Growing, Kevin Podcast Sponsor: Four Sigmatic I've been a fan of Four Sigmatic for a while, so when they decided to send out some product and sponsor the cast, I was overjoyed. They make "drinking mushrooms." Delicious and easy to mix mushroom coffees, mochas, hot cacaos, and elixirs. I'm a big fan of the Lion's Mane Coffee and the Hot Cacao with Reishi - the perfect way to bookend a day. Use code epicshrooms for 15% off your first order. What's up everyone out there? How are you doing? Today's episode is just a

0:06.9

freestyle so I wanted to I guess it's a rant I don't really want to call it that though

0:12.2

it's basically a little discussion that I want to have with you on the podcast.

0:18.0

So I was browsing around on my Instagram feed, which is just at epic gardening.. I like to connect one to one with a lot

0:24.7

of gardeners over there. It's a lot easier than the podcast, although I love all of you, of course,

0:29.6

it's just hard to talk one-on-one because you can't hit reply to a podcast like you can to a

0:34.4

picture. Anyways I saw someone post in my feed about how they quote-unquote

0:40.3

cheated by growing with seedlings, seed darts, rather than growing from seed.

0:46.9

And how they felt so bad about that and how other gardeners said that you know you're less of a gardener because you didn't grow from seed.

0:56.0

And to that I say that's just total nonsense.

1:00.0

Like it couldn't be more nonsensical to my ears.

1:03.0

I heard it and I was like, what is entering my ears right now?

1:07.1

It makes zero sense to be.

1:09.2

Listen, and you know, I'm sure all of you listening to this already know this, but to be high and mighty about gardening is silly.

1:19.3

We're all here to grow plants. We're all here to enjoy the beauties of nature, cultivating nature, enjoying freshly grown food,

1:28.0

however you decide to grow it.

1:30.1

I don't really feel that these competitions, if you want to call them that of who's more organic or who's more of a knowledgeable gardener than the other,

1:40.0

who's more skilled at gardening really matters at all. What it boils down to is how do you

1:46.0

want to grow plants and how are you going to achieve your goals? You know, I know people listening to

1:51.7

this podcast right now who want to grow a couple herbs on a balcony

1:56.4

so they can throw some chives and basil into their morning omelet.

1:59.9

And that's it. And they don't even care about too much more than that.
