Today I want to share with you a truth that has transformed my devotional life.

And I really mean that. It has, it's affected me personally. It has affected the way I study

to speak to others. And the way I approached the Bible. I began to introduce it the last time we studied together.

We've been in 1st, Timothy chapter 4, where the Bible says we're to give attention to the Word of God.

We're to give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine, and then to meditation.

And we left off with this idea about learning to meditate on the Word of God, what God wants to say to us,

truth God wants us to share with others, but meditation. This is the great secret.

And I said to you that the meaning of meditation is found right in the passage.

1 Timothy 4.15, meditate upon these things, give thyself holy to them.

So that's what it means.

You're giving yourself entirely to the scriptures.

That's the meaning.

The motive is found in the passage.

The motive is that I want my own prophet, my own spiritual growth, and I want the profit of others.

I want to be able to find those truths that

will not only help build my faith, but I can share them with someone else and hopefully

they can benefit from it. I really believe this meditation yields the richest diamonds.

God speaks most of those who draw near to him. And so when you take the time and give your energy and undivided attention to the Word of God,

oh, the scriptures begin to open to you.
