Everyone loves a good story and a good storyteller.

But there is no storyteller like the Lord Jesus,

and there are no greater stories told than the ones Jesus shared.

In this study, spiritual stories, we consider the parables Jesus told and their

application to us. These are truly the greatest stories ever told, and the Lord has something

All of us are answerable to our God. That's why, as we return today to Matthew chapter number 25 and another one of our Lord's parables, the Lord addresses yet another group of people. In the last

study, we looked at the opening verses of Matthew 25, and we saw our Lord

address the Jewish nation, the people of Israel, represented by the ten virgins.

And he basically is saying to them, not all of you are going to be ready when I return.

Now we come to a second story in this same

trilogy of parables, and this one is really aimed at the church. Listen to Matthew 25

beginning in verse number 14. For the kingdom of heaven is as a man traveling into a far

country who called his own servants and delivered unto them his goods.

And under one, he gave five talents to another two, to another one, to every man according to

his several ability and straightway took his journey. Then he that had received the five talents,
