The Chinese President Xi Jinping says there's been progress in US-China relations as he met

the Secretary of State Anthony Blinken for unscheduled talks.

The Chinese President told Mr. Blinken that Beijing did not seek to challenge or displace

the United States.

Mr. Blinken then went on to hold a press conference.

Both the United States and China have an obligation to manage this relationship responsibly,

doing so serves the best interests of the United States of China, indeed, of the world.
