New GDP figures show the US economy has gone into reverse, having its worst quarter since 2022.

Gross domestic product measures all the goods and services produced in the economy,

and is just registered at an annualized rate of 0.3% in the first quarter of this financial year.

That's according to the Commerce Department, and is a sharp slowdown from the fourth quarter's 2.4% rate.

Most economists say President Donald Trump's monumental bid to reshape global trade is likely

to send inflation climbing in the US, and even trigger a recession.

A rising number of Americans say Trump's deportation policies have gone too far.

That's the finding of a new CNN SSRS poll, which showed 52% think he's overstepped,

compared to 45% in February.

Meanwhile, 56% say the administration should work to bring back the Maryland man, who it has

acknowledged mistakenly deporting to El Salvador.
