I think we've reached a substantial framework for the two leaders.

That was Treasury Secretary Scott Besant after US and Chinese officials reached an outline for a trade agreement.

It would avoid a potentially disastrous 157% tariff on Chinese goods, while paving the way

for a discussion between President Donald Trump and China's leader Xi Jinping later this week.

The apparent progress came during the first leg of Trump's week-long diplomacy tour in Asia, easing tensions

between the world's two biggest economies after weeks of escalations.

Now Besson said that the U.S. and China reached a TikTok. Now, Besson said that the US and China reached a, quote,

final deal on TikTok,

and that Trump and she would quote,

consummate the deal when they meet at APEC in South Korea on Thursday.

And China has yet to confirm that the two leaders will meet.
