We start with the latest on President Donald Trump's trip to China. In a Fox News interview,

Trump said Chinese president Xi Jinping offered to help resolve the war between the U.S. and Iran.

Though in a separate interview, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the U.S. isn't seeking assistance

from Beijing.

Trump said Xi vowed not to provide military equipment to Iran, but he also said she emphasized

China's economic ties to the country, as it's Iran's largest oil consumer.

The president had been widely expected to push China to pressure Iran to accept

the peace deal and to open the strait of Hormuz. CNN's David Ryan talks more about the looming

impact of the war on the summit in Wednesday's episode of One Thing, available wherever you

get your podcasts. For now, here's CNN's Jeremy Diamond. What we're hearing today from U.S.

officials is very much seeming like China is willing

to use its influence to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

That's what we just heard not long ago from the U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besson,

who is speaking on CNBC, indicating that China will use its influence toward that aim.

And the U.S. now seems confident that that is China's position.

You know, what's clear is that this conflict overall is not something that's going to end with

Chinese intervention.

We have watched as the U.S. and Iran are still very, very far apart at the negotiating table.

But China could certainly wield significant influence here if they choose to get involved.

Meanwhile, Trump said Xi agreed to order 200 Boeing jets.

Tomorrow is Trump's last day in China.
