Starting this week with a bit of a confession, in recent years I have paid less and less attention to automotive cybersecurity issues.

Since there's been no big catastrophic incident,

no headline grabbing research project like the remote hack of a Jeep Cherokee way back in 2015.

This whole subject has kind of fallen off my radar.

I've assumed that the auto industry has gotten its act together,

that things have been headed in a safer direction,

and that this was a largely solved problem.

My guest today is Yoave Levy,

co-founder and CEO of Israeli startup upstream security.

He's here to tell me that I'm not only off target but totally flat wrong.

cybersecurity breaches last year than in all previous years combined?
