So I was torn, Alan Natalie and Brudy here at the start of this week's episode of Smackdown

because we did kick off with Cody Rhodes versus Gunther for the WWE title with Sammy Zane as a special guest referee. I guess if you were going to change the title, nobody would expect to in match one. But then we didn't change the championships and now going forward, I'd be like, well if it is match one, I won't believe it. Also, my friends, I wonder ups and downs,

and that's about the long and the short of it.

Everything in professional wrestling right now. I wouldn't say that it's calm, but we are just kind of ticking along. And as for this episode of Smacker Down, well, it was quite hit and miss, which works for me because my show essentially means hit and miss. Let's go. But yes, Gunther, Cody Rhodes, W.W. Championship, Sammy Zane as a special guest referee, and of course it is Samuel, where we do need to focus on, because at one point Cody was being Gunther up too much, so Sammy Zane removed Cody from the corner, so Gunther took advantage. Now, listen, I hate that spot in professional wrestling. You should just be allowed to beat up your opponent.

But given that other referees do it too, it was just meant to make you go, oh my gosh, Sam is calling it down the middle, which is also true later, because Gunther was down for the one, two, three, but he got his foot on the ropes. And unlike cash in Italy, Sam was like, no, no, this can't happen. And then Cody wrote through a tantrum. I was like Cody, this is how we got here to begin with. You should just accept it.

They started slapping each other. So Good for gave Sammy Zane a power bomb. And that's when you knew what was going to happen.

And this Nick Aldous man, he needs to get better control of his show. This should never happen to begin with, but the match continued. Instead, Cody got the super-coded cutter and a crossroads, but he only got a one-two-oo, because a brand new referee took about 47 years to get to the ring. And I will say, We're going to have to get back to matches when somebody hits a crossroads and Cody gets the victory.

Because at the moment, I mean, that move is barely a finisher. Gunther then reversed all this and got the bomb of power, which is when Sammy Zane pulled the other referee out the ring. So this got totally absurd. And then, yes, when Cody went for something, Gunther held onto the ropes. And Sam decided, nope, I don't like that. He kicked Gunther's hand when Cody used a most devastating move. In all the sports and it's never surprise roll up and he got the one, two, three. This was my face. It's just stepping off into the distance. I was like, man, we just Google mapped to our own house. We got back to where we already were. And there was some fun to the aliens after this, I suppose,

because in the back everybody was falling out with everybody else.

When Cody got the microphone said, no, no, we must continue on this match. But now we just had a normal referee. So apparently, Sammy Zayn fulfilled his obligations, which meant he ran to the ring. He kind of went to Huluvik Cody Rhodes, I guess, but Cody got out the way, so he smashed Gunther instead.

It all went crazy after this too, because Cody was bad, so Sammy Zane just laid him out with the championship, meaning this segment ended with Sammy Zane standing tall in the middle of the ring

And listen, I always assumed this was going to be totally absurd,

so at least it was fun, right? I sat there and I laughed. It was just the most over-the-top professional wrestling match that I have seen for a while, which is doubly funny because the W-W title is on the line, so for that part, at least I'm giving it an up. I mean, as long as I'm But as for the rest of it, well, it does kind of feel just a little bit like a holding pattern.
