So Gunther started this week's episode of Smackdown and quite rightfully he feels like the last few weeks he has been screwed over because where at the flub is his proper world title shot. Now do not forget, he was not pinned at Night of Champions. That fall went down between Coder Rhodes and Sammy Zane. So even though Guntz was in a bad mood and he was coming across like a bad guy. It was a bit like, you know what, Gunth? I kind of agree with you. He of course

blames Nick Alders for this situation, especially because now he does have to team with Sammy Zane. That's the night's main event. When out came Adam Pearce, who now has to take over Smackdown again, because poor Nick Aldous is dead. That's right, you remember what happened last week? Gunther did choke him out. Adam probably should have been like, man, this is ridiculous. I don't get extra pay for this.

But instead, he did tell Gunkday said,

It also turns out this king has added a stipulation to the tag team match at SNME. And that is that if Gunther and Samu Zane can win, they will be added to the Cody Road

CM Punk SummerSlam World title match, making it a fatal four way. I'm in two worlds about this. On the one hand, I was a bit like, that is interesting, but if we were going to introduce that, we should have done it seven days ago, because on this hand, now that W.W. he has announced the one-on-one match between Punk and Cody,

which I've wanted for ages.

Well, now I want it.

It's like being given a present on Christmas Day, even more so. The only way we get to the awesome promos that these two guys are going to cut is getting through Samanite's main event, but maybe that's how you can argue it. It has made that match more interesting, but I also don't think Sammy and Gunther are going to win. Cody Rose must have felt the same because he ran to the ring, punched Gunther right in the mouth, got on a microphone and said, man, I'm so sick of you, you are so boring, so why don't we have a match later? And a piss was like, well actually, this does make sense, I'm not in charge of Smackdown, I looked at the running order, there was no main event, you two can do it. And we'll get to that later, but given how it does end, I still kind to think that Cody Rhodes will get the pin on Saturnite's main event, because he is going to lose to punk at SummerSlam. But what I will say is that I will credit WWE for quite clearly looking at the story and going, man, this match needs something. Otherwise, it's not really tying into SummerSlam. And it needs some intrigues that hopefully more people can tune in. So once again, you can say they should have done this seven days ago to give it a week to cook. But I also appreciate the fact they could look at their own product and go, man, there's just something missing here. And we need to plug the hole. Otherwise, I think the throat to Somerslam at the moment is totally crazy. But on that alone, because I do believe I'm right, I shall give it an up. Nobody should feel bound to something. It doesn't mean you throw all your storyline plans out there. Sometimes you do have to have confidence in what you are doing, but I would imagine that WW is a little bit worried about SummerSlam, so you should try something new. And we shouldn't fight back against that. Taking a risk sometimes is the way, but yes, I have no idea what the plan with Gunther is. Well, he'll fight Nick Aldous, I'm sure. But as for this, Sammy Zane, no clue. Also, that higher power stuff is dumb. Also, hello, my friends. That was the longest intro ever, but this is ups and downs. It was then rubbish news right out of the gate as well because Adam Pierce was back and he did tell us that Ria Ripley is injured. It's one of those injuries that they're not 100% sure when she will be back but she is going to miss SummerSlam and therefore she's not vacating the title but they are going to introduce an interim women's championship. Now I never like the interim staff at the same time I don't give a damn because we're talking about somebody being hurt here. I can live with it and also whoever does win that belt, I'll just pretend they are the real women's champion. And of course when Rio Ripley does return, that can just be your feud. Mainly I hope that she is okay. I mean that just sucks. I was excited to see what we were going to do. we were going to do. now, though, is to have a bunch of qualifying matches with the winners going on to have a ladder match at Somerslam, with the winner becoming the brand new women's champion, and we'll talk about it, and just be honest with you, I don't understand the WWE decisions at all. For that, though, it was Talley and the tallest Tonga taken on Finn Baller and men. This made me happy.

Well, 19 and 5% of it did. I do want to point out, I think consistently the best thing about Smackdown is Wade Barrett. That man is brilliant. But halfway through this, he said, oh, Tama Tonga and Tala Tonga, they're being controlled by some mysterious elders. I was like, oh my gosh, that's the thing we just did a minute ago. We thought Adam Pierce was talking about.

There was a time in WWE where Finn Baller couldn't buy a wing. And here, not only was he able to just ignore the interference of Tamantonga

and give him a sling blade on the outside, but he got back in the ring, he hit the Ku Kluger, he got the 1-2-3, and let's not forget, as we were told throughout this match, Tala is the tallest Tongue, he's really tall, oh my gosh, look at his height, that actually made it feel like Finn Baller had just done something amazing. I love this.

And it does feel like we're setting Finn Ballard up for something big.
