Brian, let's talk some keys to victory.

As we do every week on the Irish Breakdown podcast on Thursdays,

we go over Keys to Victory for the offense and the defense.

So in this part of upon further review here on the Irish Breakdown podcast,

brought to you by Fandul, what we are going to do is we are going to start taking a look at

the offensive keys to victory that we talked about last Thursday.

And the first one to the surprise of nobody, rightfully so, is the offense needed to find a way to start fast.

And then we built upon that, talked about how they also have to sustain a fast start.

Now, Brian, I don't know about you,

but I think the offense did a pretty good job of starting fast on Saturday. I'm going to give a plus on this one. One of things we've been critical of of the offense in the past, Trevor,

is they'll get that early score and then they just don't keep it going. And even against Purdue

last year, again, they scored 66 points. They punted on two of their first five drives. They didn't punt once against Purdue

on Saturday. And it's not because they turned a ball over. They had one turnover. It was because

they just got to score and touchdowns. I mean, literally, I think the first team offense was on the

field for eight drives, like real drives. I don't count the taking a knee at the end of the second,

you know, quarters as a drive, but eight real drives and they scored touchdowns on seven of them,

not two touchdowns and five field goals, not four touchdowns and three field goals, seven

touchdowns. It was 56 to 23 at the end of the third

quarter Notre Dame would score a point in the fourth quarter that's a that's the epitome of a fast

start and look in part of it it helped the defense the defense was struggling early and Purdue hurt

themselves like every other team is done to know against Notre Dame and they hurt themselves they make mistakes and hurt themselves. Like every other team is done against Notre Dame. And they hurt themselves.

They make mistakes and hurt themselves. And it wasn't really the Nurtainteam defense making many stops. It had that one great play by Madame where he jumped the route and ball goes up in the air. Krista Gray's picks it off. And that was great. But like they didn't really stop Purdue in the first half. I mean, Purdue settled for a field goal in the second quarter on a ball that hit a tight end in the chest and he dropped it. I mean, it should have been a touchdown. So when your offense is playing that way, it does take some of the pressure off of your defense. It got the crowd into it. I thought the crowd was pretty good on Saturday night, Trevor,
