0:13.0	On this episode we are going to discuss the very tragic death of Kobe Bryant, his daughter,
0:20.0	Gianna, and seven other people who were aboard a helicopter that crashed several days ago.
0:25.9	And we thought about talking about this on the podcast last week, the week that it happened,
0:30.8	but we decided that maybe wasn't the best idea. People were grieving appropriately
0:35.4	so and it seemed like it was too quick to turn it into kind of cultural analysis. But now this week we think it's worth coming back and
0:45.6	revisiting this topic and just asking the question what can we learn from it.
0:50.4	Now we're trying to thread the needle and so we ask for a little bit of
0:55.1	grace here from you. What I mean by that is this is definitely a tragic
0:59.5	situation. A family is torn apart more than one several and we should heed God's command to
1:06.4	weep with those who weep and so the right response of everybody but for sure Christians
1:11.9	is to pray to have compassion on this family to
1:15.4	pray for their friends and family members and everyone involved with it.
1:19.9	On the other hand we think that there's something here for us to learn from and so
1:26.1	we're going to kind of think about this not as people who knew Kobe Bryant
1:30.5	because of course we didn't but as people who are pastors and who want to
1:35.1	think biblically about this situation and see what we can learn from it.
1:39.6	Yeah so today we're not going to do a retrospective on Kobe's life.
1:44.0	We're not even going to talk about how to process grief
1:47.2	and how to work through grief in our own lives.
