Hi folks this is Jemar Tisbee and I wanted to give you an update about the Witness Foundation

this is an initiative that we announced in October of 2019.

Our goal is to raise a million dollars for Black Christian ministry.

We promote the spiritual and material flourishing of Black people

by funding the work of black Christian leaders. Now the rise of

the novel coronavirus and COVID-19 has altered the landscape for all of us. We've had to

make adjustments we never imagined we'd have to make, but we still need to find ways to move forward with important projects and initiatives even though the status quo has been upended.

Nevertheless, the church gleams brightest in the darkest times. The world often

scoffs at and even discounts the church until there is a crisis. And during such difficult times, leaders rise up to serve and show Christ love in tangible ways.

We're in a crisis right now.

But who are those leaders? Who are those voices? We need the voices of

black Christian leaders now. The economic landscape has shifted but we trust the power of God through this. We know that in the

coming months and the year that financial challenges are sure to be felt worldwide

but at the Witness Foundation. We're looking at this as an opportunity to build a strong

foundation, a strong foundation for the Foundation.

So we've been meeting with a professional fundraiser and we've made some adjustments that we're going to introduce to you soon.

I think you'll be really excited about how we've refined the vision and seek to serve black Christian leaders.

We're also meeting with potential board members

to help us with governance and to expand the skills

and expertise at the foundation.

But we need your help too.

Right now, we are looking for those who may have some unexpected flexibility in their schedules, some time you didn't have before, to help us in a few areas.
