Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of U-Tempo Talks. Today will be a solo so with just myself coach Dylan Bellis. I really wanted to bring up a topic that a lot of us, actually it's a topic that I've talked

with a lot of people about recently, especially right now with everything that's going on.

We're not, you know, as runners we have this natural need and want to be able to show our fitness

and to demonstrate that through races.

I know personally for myself, I enjoyed this last year of training just because I was so healthy and I was able to travel to so many incredible new cities I had never been to and compete.

And it wasn't just the competing that really brought it to me, but it was the community of runners, the traveling new

cities and trying new food, and just having fun with the people I enjoyed running with and

training with.

You know, and it's a bonus to be able to go to those places and to really,

to see exactly what I was made of for.

That was a 5K event or 10k half marathon or a marathon is really awesome to see all your work be shown and pay off and just you know it's an addicting feeling for all of us, that feeling of being able

to stand up on the line with our nerves just running so coarsely through our bodies and the crowds of people just

waiting for the gun to go off or to hear the roar of the crowd and just that

celebratory nature of crossing that finish line, how good it feels,

and how good that post-race drink or that post-race meal is, you know, I miss that too. I miss those things very, very dearly.

And, you know, it's, we're all dealing with it right now but as a coach and as an athlete myself and

someone who takes this sport so much more than just being competitive is being able to see and to understand that we can't forget how far we have all come and in our journey in our training and everything that's led up to this point. I think it's important

for us to understand that at the end of all this, whenever we can move past this terrible thing that's going on the world that's just having has affected

so many people, I think we're going to have that opportunity again.

And I reach out to so many people

and I talk to so many people on a given day.
