Summary

Today, people’s interest in the end times seems to be at an all-time high. That concern, however, is not always translated into everyday life. How can we live in light of Christ’s return? In his eight-part series, Until Christ Returns, Dr. Michael Youssef uses the example of the Thessalonians to encourage Christians not to be deterred by persecution, fear, or human pride, but to actively and outwardly serve the living God, confidently awaiting His return even in turbulent times.

0:32.2	Although she was very well off, she had a reputation in the town as being very well-off, she had a reputation in the town as being very frugal. And so imagine the
0:45.1	surprise of her neighbors when they heard that she was going to be the very first person
0:51.4	in town to install electricity into her house. It was a big surprise to them.
0:59.7	A couple of months later, she had a knock on the door from the electric company representative.
1:08.5	Madam, is the electricity working okay? She said, oh yeah, the electricity is just
1:13.9	working fine. And he said, well, can I ask you a question? Why does your meter show that you
1:22.5	have hardly used any electricity? She said, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I use electricity. When the sun goes down, I turn
1:31.5	the lights on long enough to light all the candles in my house. And as soon as I finished lighting
1:38.7	the candles, I turn the electricity off. And I read this and I thought, what an example of so many Christian believers today.
1:49.4	They are connected to the power of the Holy Spirit, but they scarcely use it. Like this lady,
1:58.5	they are tapped into the power, but they're living by candle lights.
2:03.7	They are connected, but they're not altered.
2:07.1	They had the resources at their disposal, but they choose to live on partial light.
2:15.1	On a spiritual level, this is truly a picture of what is happening in our culture
2:19.8	today among believers. They are living their lives, quenching the Holy Spirit of God, to whom they
