Summary

Today, people’s interest in the end times seems to be at an all-time high. That concern, however, is not always translated into everyday life. How can we live in light of Christ’s return? In his eight-part series, Until Christ Returns, Dr. Michael Youssef uses the example of the Thessalonians to encourage Christians not to be deterred by persecution, fear, or human pride, but to actively and outwardly serve the living God, confidently awaiting His return even in turbulent times.

0:18.3	The only people who ought to be fearing and trembling of that day of judgment are those who have
0:24.0	refused to accept Jesus Christ as their only Savior.

0:40.0	who think that they can save themselves or that they can do enough work and charitable work,

0:55.0	but not those who are in the Lord Jesus Christ. And so that's exactly the message.
1:01.0	Our first Thessalonians 5, 1 to 11, turn to it with me, please, if you haven't already.
1:06.4	Here in chapter 5, beginning at verse 1, Paul uses a segue sentence, now, brothers, about the times and the
1:15.6	dates. Some says times and seasons. There are two words in the Greek, and they both mean time.
1:21.7	One is a moment of time and the other one is a season. See, there are people in our culture
1:27.4	in our day are so fascinated about the end of the
1:30.3	world. But believe it or not, 2,000 years ago, the Christians in Thessalonica, they were not only
1:38.0	fascinated by that day, they were not only curious about that day, they were worried about this day. In fact, they were,
1:46.5	through some erroneous teaching and erroneous information, became really, really unsettled
1:54.2	about the day of the Lord. And so the Apostle Paul write to them, first of all, to assure them
