A scriptural lesson today comes from the 11th chapter of the book of beginnings, the book of

Genesis, beginning with verse 27. You'll find these words. This is the account of Tehrah's family.

Tehrah was the father of Abram, Nehor, and Haran. And Haran was the father of Lot. But Haran died in Er of the Chaldeans, the land of his birth, while his father, Tehrah, was still living.

Meanwhile, Abram and Nahor both married.

The name of Abram's wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor's wife was Milka. Milka and her sister Iska were

daughters of Nahor's brother, Haran. But Sarai was unable to become pregnant and had no children.

And one day, Tehrah took his son Abram, his daughter-in-law, Sarai, his son Abram's wife, and his grandson, Lott, his son,

Haran's child, and moved away from Er of the Chaldeans.

He was headed for the land of Canaan, but they stopped at Haran and settled there, and

Tarah lived for 205 years and died still in Haran.

I'm speaking today from the subject simply unstuck.

Unstuck.

Unstuck.

Unstuck.

Because Tara got stuck in a place called Haran and couldn't move beyond that. He had a son by the same name

that happened to get stuck there and died. And it's always painful for a parent to outlive their children.

And he had to bury a child in that region. And somehow dad could not move past the place where his son had died,

that region of the world, as they were on their way to their Canaan land, the promised land.

God has a promise for us and that there's always a temptation to get stuck somewhere

before you reach a promise.

This is where Tehrah was.

He was in that place that before he could get to the promised land, he got stuck.
