Hello listeners, I'm your host Amara, and this is Black Girl God, a true crime podcast.

On this episode of Black Girl God, we tell the story of 38-year-old Linda Pooley, who

was found shot to death in her home on April 16, 2005 in Warren County, North Carolina.

After family members had not heard from Linda or her 10-year-old son Tyler, they went

over to Linda's home to check on them, but when they entered the home, they found Linda

and Tyler shot to death.

These quickly ruled the deaths in murder suicide, and they believed that 10-year-old Tyler

was the perpetrator.

But Glenda and Tyler's family did not believe Tyler was capable of murder.

So in 750,000 dollars worth of life insurance policies were found, a different story began

to emerge about what could have possibly happened to Glenda and Tyler.

Did Tyler really murder his mother and then himself?

Or was this actually a double-homicide?

This is Glenda's story.

So I'm sure that you can imagine that I watch a lot of true crime.

Now of course, when I watch it, I'm also looking for stories I can cover for the podcasts.

Recently, I've been watching Still a Mystery, which is an ID channel show, and that's

where I found the story about Glenda Pooley.

The story immediately struck me because it's not often where you hear stories where a

son is accused of killing his own mother, but a 10-year-old is almost unheard of.

I had never heard of Linda's story on any other true crime show before, but I knew that
