Last episode, we began our coverage of the disappearance of Sonya Tubes, a 22-year-old mother from

Tinnell, Georgia. If you'll recall, Tinnell is a tiny town in Washington County which sits on the CSRA,

the Central Savannah River area of the state.

It's made up of 14 counties here in Georgia and another seven in South Carolina,

and includes larger cities like Aiken and Augusta, but there are plenty of tiny towns too.

Tinnell is one of them, so as Sandersville, the Washington County seat,

it is much better known than Tinnell, but it's still small, mostly because it's home to Georgia's

white gold mines. That's Kaelin or White Clay or Chalk. You probably use products containing Kaelin

every day, and the mining operations that are built around its production are a major source of

income for the region, but they also mean that Sandersville is full of areas that are dangerous.
