When a Western New York woman vanishes during a night of dancing at a popular nightclub,

the focus of the investigation quickly turns to the last person seen with her, a local state trooper.

Investigators seek the public's help in solving a case they refuse to give up on in this episode of Last Seen Alive.

Music Thank you, Live. Thanks for listening to Last Seen Alive. I'm your host Leah, crime analyst by day, and true crime storyteller by night. And as always, I'm your co-host Scott. Leisha Riley was last seen alive on January 31st,

1985. She was 21 years old at the time and lived in West Seneca, New York, a suburb of Buffalo.

Leisha had grown up in the area with her parents and two siblings.

From a young age, she'd been creative with a love for painting, drawing, and reading,

and had had a great sense of humor, which made her a lot of fun to be around.

After graduating high school, she'd attended classes at Buffalo State and dreamed of one day being a professional

writer, perhaps a novelist. Meanwhile, she worked at a local pizza place waiting tables. As anyone

who's ever worked a similar job knows, weekends are the busiest days of your work week.

So, before a busy weekend of waiting tables, Leisha got dressed up and set out for a Wednesday night, January 30th, to have some fun with friends.

At about 6 p.m., she arrived at a female friend's nearby home for a get-together.

Eventually, she and one friend moved on to the Pierce

Arrow restaurant and nightclub in West Seneca. The Pierce Arrow, which is no longer around, was popular at

the time and featured dining in one room and a dance floor in another. The dance floor was what

had attracted Alicia and her friend that night, and it was busy.

Lots of people saw Lisa at the club that night, and several even saw her leave, but no one ever saw her again after that.

And Alicia did not leave with the friends she'd come with that night.

According to reporting for the Buffalo News, that friend had wanted to leave earlier than

Leisha had, and Leisha had told her that that was okay and she'd just get a ride home from someone

else. Unfortunately, that never happened.
