Hebrews chapter 6, verses 17 and 18.

So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise,

the unchangeable character of his purpose,

he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two

unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge

might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. Man, that was a loaded sentence.

There were so many rich words and phrases in these two verses, but I just want to boil it down

to this summary with a couple of the phrases that are here that it will lead us, not just to pray,

but I hope to be deeply encouraged today, which is the whole point of these two verses.

When you get to verse 18, it says, so that we who fled for refuge might have strong

encouragement.

That's what I'm praying the next couple of minutes we'll do.

Just bring strong encouragement to you because Hebrews chapter 6, verse 17, says God has a purpose that is unchangeable for your life. You are free from

meaninglessness in this world. Your life and everything in it, even the hard things, even the

things you wonder, why is this happening? Hebrews chapter 6, verse 17, says

God has an unchangeable purpose. And we know his purpose for his people is always good. And nothing can

change that. God has a good purpose plan for your life and every

detail in it. And nothing can change that. And not just his purpose, but his promises are

unchangeable, unshakable. Verse 18 says, it is impossible for God to lie. So when God says,

I have a good purpose for your life and every detail in it, we can trust him. When God says,

well, any of his promises that he says all throughout the Bible, to be with us, to be for us, to strengthen us,
