And I remember going to Christian camps with my dad.

and I would go and I would sit there as a child,

as a teenager.

And this is one of my favorite songs because I really wanted what this song was about.

I really wanted to be a part of a generation that really sought God and I wanted to really love God in my heart but after I left camp I couldn't figure out how to do that.

It's one thing to know that we should seek God and that we want to be that, it's one thing to want to be that kind of generation

it's a whole another thing to actually do it and what we see in today's text and

Ecclesiastics 2 1 through 11 is Solomon definitely knows where to find satisfaction. He knows it's in

God. He knows it's not going to be under the sun. He says so many times

throughout Ecclesiasties and yet at the end of his life he turns his back on God

Even though God gives him wisdom to know right from wrong to know that there's nothing on earth that's gonna satisfy him

He knows that and he still turns his back on God. Isn't that crazy? You can read that in 1st Kings chapter 11.

So what we want to do is we want to find out how to become that kind of generation, a generation that seeks the God of Jacob.

That phrase, God of Jacob, it just means he doesn't change.

Whatever he promised to Abraham, he also promised to Isaac, he also promised to

Jacob, he also promised to the Gentiles who would be a part of that promise in
