I've got one for you.

I was just sent to text, reminded we have a little trip coming up.

It's like a business trip, and I'm supposed to get a flight for it.

And the person had a text to remind me.

And you know what? I already knew i was supposed to do

that and i thought about it in the last two weeks probably four times and then thought oh yes i

need to do that and then i didn't do it and then they sent me a reminder text and then i had to mark

the text unread because i read it to remind me to do it.

And I should just stick it in my bulletproof to-do system.

But for some reason, hopping on Delta's website and buying this flight seems to just be a thing that I always hear I should do or I'm reminded I should do or remember I should do when I can't actually do it.

Honestly, I should stop right now.

I should grab my phone and I should book the flight.

It remains what you are familiar with, what I'm familiar with as an open loop.

And open loops are pernicious little nasty parasites of a thing that just kind of ping you at the most unwelcome

unhelpful times hey did you remember to get that flight hey did you remember to send someone that

birthday card hey did you remember to pay that bill hey did you remember to pay that bill hey did you remember

to pay that but you see how annoyed i don't even finish saying it three times i was already annoyed um

the bill pay situation where you aren't yet out of the paycheck to paycheck cycle uh every single

bill is an open loop and that is a rain on your parade, if I may say it that way.
