signature Major. This is hell. For over 30 years here in the United States

there have been open calls by Republicans to take back the country.

Originally they were only made by those in the far right

relics from the Nixon administration

that tried to conceal their racism.

Now those calls are being made by nearly every Republican,

and for a while there during a Republican presidency.

No longer embraced by only the fringe,

taking back the country seems to be at the heart of reactionary

politics in the United States today. From whom are they taking back the

country anyway when this is a country whose founding was based on taking the

country from someone else. Well they're taking it back from anyone who is not

white and does not have a Judeo-Christian identity apparently.

They target some merely because of their appearance and whatever hate that triggers in the racist and often violent mind.

Add on to the difference in appearance and non-Judio Christian religion being openly practiced

and that violent racist can become deadly.

In the late 1980s growing up in Jersey City, today's guest was a victim of such hatred as was the entire Asian community.

First and second generation immigrants and the children of immigrants derided for their success at achieving the American dream.
